JOEL & KAREN - ENGAGEMENT AT DRURIDGE BAY

Engagement sessions are some of my absolute favorite moments to capture. They're filled with excitement, tenderness, and the sweet anticipation of what's to come. These shoots mean so much to me because they allow us to slow down, get to know each other better, and create something deeply personal and timeless before the whirlwind of the wedding day.

Karen and Joel's session was exactly that - fun, relaxed, and overflowing with love. As fellow wildlife photographers (how incredible is that?), they had a natural ease in front of the camera. We started by chatting about our favorite lenses and gear before diving into the magic.

Despite the day being predicted as a stormy disaster, I may have buried a sausage (yes, really!) the night before as a little wedding-day good luck ritual I've picked up over the years. And it worked its magic once again! We ended up with the most gorgeous, soft lighting and no storms in sight.

This session was also extra special because I got to use my new Contax T2 - a dreamy little 35mm film camera that I've been eager to try out. I'm thrilled to soon be offering a 35mm film package as part of my services for all the analog lovers. There's something so nostalgic and beautifully imperfect about film, and I can't wait to bring that magic to my couples.

I can already tell that Karen and Joel's wedding at Howard Court this September is going to be truly unforgettable. Their connection is effortless and genuine - a joy to witness and an even greater joy to photograph.

Here's to the beginning of their forever, and all the beautiful moments yet to come.
